Where to Buy R&B Beats Online (and What to Check Before You Pay)
In short: you can buy R&B beats on big platforms like BeatStars or Airbit, in a producer’s own store, or through the link in a YouTube video. A lease usually costs between $20 and $150. Before you pay, listen to the full beat, sing your chorus over it and check that the license covers where you’re going to release the song. See my R&B beats →
Where can you buy R&B beats?
- Big platforms: lots of producers in one place, and you can search by mood or BPM. The platform takes a commission and each producer sets their own license rules, so you have to read them beat by beat.
- The producer’s own store: you buy directly from the person who made the beat. The price is usually the same or better, and you can ask questions before and after you buy.
- YouTube: most people find R&B beats by searching “artist name + type beat”. The description of the video almost always links to the producer’s store. Don’t rip the audio from YouTube: without a license, your song can be taken down.
How much does an R&B beat cost?
A lease (a license that isn’t exclusive) usually costs between $20 and $150. Exclusive rights, where the beat is only yours, cost more and are usually agreed with the producer. This is what each license costs in my store:
- Basic, $24.95: MP3, up to 150,000 monetized streams.
- Premium, $39.95: WAV, up to 350,000 monetized streams.
- Unlimited, $99.95: no stream limit, with the separated tracks (stems) so your engineer can mix better.
- Exclusive: price agreed for each beat. The beat is only yours and comes off the store.

What to check before you pay
- That you can listen to the full beat, not just 30 seconds.
- Sing your chorus over it. If you have to strain on the high notes, that key isn’t right for your voice.
- That the license says how many streams and sales it covers.
- Which files you get: MP3, WAV or stems. In R&B the voice is the main thing, and stems make it easier to mix the beat around it.
- That you get the license in writing, in your name, right after you pay.
- What happens if YouTube puts a Content ID claim on your song.
Content ID: what happens on YouTube
Many beats are registered in YouTube’s Content ID. If someone else registered the beat, your song can get a claim and the money from your video goes to them.
I register my beats under my own name. When you release your song, send me the link on WhatsApp or by email and I remove the claim, so what your song makes on YouTube stays with you. This applies to the Basic, Premium and Unlimited licenses.
Which license do you need?
- Your first song, or you’re testing: Basic.
- A release you’re going to promote: Premium or Unlimited.
- Your main single, and you don’t want anyone else using the beat: Exclusive.
All of them let you release the song on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and every other platform. Compare the licenses → If you still need help picking the tempo and key, read R&B beats for singers.

Frequently asked questions
How much does an R&B beat cost?
A lease usually costs between $20 and $150, depending on the license. In my store R&B beats start at $24.95. Exclusive rights are agreed per beat. See how much a type beat costs →
What is the difference between leasing and buying an exclusive?
With a lease you can release your song, but the producer can keep selling the beat to other artists. With exclusive rights only you can use it, and the beat comes off the store.
Can I upload my song to Spotify with a beat I bought?
Yes. Every license allows it, within the stream limit of each one.
Can I use an R&B beat I found on YouTube for free?
Only if the producer allows it in writing, and that is almost always for non-commercial use. To release the song on Spotify or make money with it, you need to buy the license.
