Where do you buy trap beats?

Big platforms: lots of producers in one place and easy to compare. The platform takes a commission, and each producer sets their own license rules.
The producer’s own store: you buy directly from whoever made the beat. You usually get a better price or more included, and you can talk to them if you have questions.
YouTube: where most people discover beats. The video almost always has a link to the producer’s store in the description. Never use a beat ripped from YouTube without buying the license.

What to check before you pay

That you can listen to the full beat.
That the license says how many streams and sales it covers, and for how long.
Which files you get: MP3, WAV or stems.
Whether the producer asks for credit and how to give it.
That the download is instant and the contract is issued in your name.
What happens with Content ID if your song gets a claim.

The Content ID problem (and how I handle it)

On some big platforms it happens that you buy a licensed beat, upload your song and YouTube puts a copyright claim on it. It usually happens because that beat was already registered in Content ID by someone else, and the money from your video ends up going somewhere else.

I register my beats in Content ID under my own name, so I’m in control. When you release your song, message me the link, on WhatsApp or by email, and I remove the claim right away, so 100 % of what your song earns on YouTube stays with you. This applies to the Basic, Premium and Unlimited licenses.

Which license do you need?

If you’re testing or it’s your first song: Basic.
If you’re going to promote it: Premium or Unlimited.
If it’s your main single and you don’t want anyone else using the beat: Exclusive rights.

How I make my trap beats

I almost always start with a piano melody, often dark or in a minor key. Then I add the 808s, hi-hats and drums, and keep the melody simple so it doesn’t compete with the vocal. In my store you can listen to them in full before paying, they download instantly with a PDF license in your name, and if you buy 2 you get 1 free.
